Trash Collection Day: Friday from 7 a.m. – 6:30 p.m

Garbage Collection Guidelines

  • Household garbage is collected once every week on Fridays.
  • Collection containers may be placed out as early as 7 am on Friday, but must be removed by 7 pm the same day. If your container was not emptied, please reach out to Round Rock Refuse after removing it from the street.
  • Position carts against the curb.

Items excluded from normal collection are:

  • dirt
  • rocks
  • fencing
  • bricks
  • commercial waste
  • concrete
  • tires
  • batteries
  • motor oil
  • cooking oil
  • refrigeration freon
  • railroad ties
  • garage door

Also excluded are hazardous materials such as automotive fluids, pesticides. The city of Round Rock will leave you a tag explaining the reason for any non-collected items.

Recycling Collection Day: Every other Friday from 7 a.m. – 6:30 p.m

  • Dining ware
  • Electronics
  • Food soiled items
  • Garden hoses
  • Irrigation sprinkler or controllers
  • Light bulbs
  • Medical waste
  • Nails or screws
  • Paint cans
  • Paper tissue (napkins, Kleenex)
  • Plastic bags
  • Pyrex
  • Shredded paper
  • Styrofoam
  • Textiles or used clothing
  • Tires
  • TVs
  • Wax coated items
  • Window glass
  • Yard waste

Holidays

There is no collection on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day. Collection will occur the following day and be pushed back one day for the remainder of that week. For example, if Christmas falls on a Friday, there will be no collection that Friday, and collection for the remainder of the week will be pushed back one day.
